Trust Is Fickle (But Is it Really Trust?)

I always believed that forgiveness is free but trust has to be earned. But how long should it take to decide if you can trust someone?

I really don't know. I just give someone the benefit of the doubt until that person does something that makes me decide not to trust.

The problem is, I feel like trust can be fickle. However, if it is fickle (in that one day I feel I can trust someone and the next day I can't) is it really trust?

I would venture to think not. Trust is like love. Just like you either love someone or you don't, you either trust someone or you don't.
